I bought this purse to carry as a CCW purse. It is a little on the large side but I chose this over the large tote because this one has a zippered closure instead of magnetic. Any woman who has ever had their purse knocked over knows how much it stinks when you just have magnetic closures and your things go flying everywhere!The term "portfolio" is a little misleading. This is honestly somewhere between a large purse and portfolio. I can fit my wallet, sunglasses and Kindle in this no problem, but to get anything else in would not be possible, so I don't really see how someone could use this for a true portfolio.The leather breaks in beautifully and I enjoy this purse, but the problems that I have with the bag are extremely irritating.There is not a lot of shape retainers built into the bag to keep it upright when you set it down, so inevitably the purse will sag and tip over on whatever side you carry your weapon on. It is a dead giveaway that there is something in the purse besides your wallet etc..Also, I have been carrying this purse for less than three months and the bindings on the straps have already frayed and come off. That above all is the most disappointing aspect of this bag. Whenever I take it off my shoulder, I have that black rubbery junk all over my clothes.This would have instantly earned five-stars were it not for the binding problem and stability. Those are just dealbreakers for me.The problem is that there is really no substitution for these purses. You can shop around but will probably not find one with the features that make this one so great (i.e. slash resistant straps). Wish GTM would address this.I'm extremely impressed by this bag, and that's saying a lot as I tend to be rather jaded. I have a tiny pistol (Ruger LCP) and so often run into holsters being far too big for my gun. This holster fit it nicely, although clearly appears to be able to hold a larger gun as well. The leather is sturdy and durable while still remaining supple. The hardware is high quality- for example the zipper pulls feel very weighty and solid. I fit plenty into this bag- my Surface, my Kindle Paperwhite, and all the usual feminine accoutrements a girl likes to carry in her purse. I think a laptop would fit if it weren't very large. My favorite part is that the dividing fabric between the pistol pocket (accessible from either the left or right side via a non-locking zipper) and the main area of the purse is thick and heavy enough that the bulge of the pistol doesn't intrude into the main area of the bag- I'm not shoving the gun out of the way while I'm digging through the bag. Overall, a great item and the price is reasonable. I've heard nothing but good things about the Gun Tote'n Mamas brand, and this bag certainly lives up to their well-deserved reputation.This is my third GTM purse and I’m never disappointed. Very well made and stylish.Got this as a Christmas gift for my wife. At first I thought it may have been a little on the big size. Not all! She loved it!!! The zipper for the handgun is big enough and sturdy enough for a Beretta 92 type pistol and room for an extra mag. The rest of the purse has plenty of room for all of her things and she loves the feel of her new purse.I am pleased with the Tote. It is sturdy enough to stand on its own, but not stiff. The outline of my weapon does not show; no one knows I am carrying, except me. I like the various compartments which make it easy to arrange things. Plus, it looks quite stylish.This purse is not real wide but is really deep. It's hard to sore much in it for as big as it looks and it's hard to reach the bottom of the bag. Also, when holding the purse you should probably hold the concealed pocket closer to your body. However, the velcro is on the purse side, not the pocket side. Which means that when drawing, you have to get 4 fingers in between the firearm/holster and the velcro. It's very awkward. It works better if you carry with the conceal pocket away from your body so that you only have to get your thumb in between. But it's a lot more obvious with that pocket away from you. I really wanted to like this but was disappointed.This is much larger than I thought it would be.... It is extremely heavy when it's full and I just don't carry that much stuff all the time. The quality and design would be perfect for someone that needs to carry a tablet or laptop all the time and it is well built. I love the design and quality but again just to big for me.The inside is much like any other large pocketbook. I would prefer an inside color other then black. Can't say whether the gun pouch works well as I haven't used it yet. Overall it is a good quality, sturdy, well made item.
